We need your help today...

Dear Friends:

This year, FAIR Fund's ability to assist girls has grown tremendously due to the generous contributions from supporters like you. And now, with a weaker economy and donors temporarily shifting their energy to the upcoming election, we need your contribution and help more than ever.

I am writing to you with an urgent appeal to help FAIR Fund raise $20,000 by September 30th to ensure that we do not have to reduce the critical services we provide. We have already raised $5,000 towards this goal, but your support is necessary to meet the increasing need in our area. Each tax-deductible contribution of $10, $50, $100, or $1,000 helps ensure FAIR Fund can continue to provide direct support to young women survivors of abuse, trafficking, and sexual violence. Please visit FAIR Fund's online donation page to donate today. The anti-trafficking movement is about more than just raising awareness; for FAIR Fund it's about making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Our staff of five serves 1,000 at-risk girls and trains an additional 2,000 college students and young professionals in anti-trafficking and sexual assault prevention advocacy. Our strength is in making meaningful connections with each girl we assist.

This means talking to her teachers, finding alternative, safe housing, working hour by hour with a girl to teach her better life skills, and connecting her to job and education opportunities. This deep level of commitment to each girl we serve means we need a dedicated staff and safe spaces for our girls to come to in their time of need. We need your help now.

{mosimage}This past month, our D.C. Youth Programs Coordinator, Eve, was finally was able to connect with a young girl who needed urgent intervention to prevent her from falling victim to exploitation via prostitution and teen trafficking. The young woman expressed her fears to Eve in class, but then disappeared after school let out for the summer. Working endlessly with teachers, law enforcement, and counselors, Eve found and assisted this young girl. This kind of dedication and advocacy is required if we are truly going to prevent trafficking of youth and sexual violence in the lives of high-risk girls.

Across the world in Serbia, I embarked on a similar journey to find and reconnect a young trafficked girl to our services. Please read about her on my blog.

To continue to provide this level of service, as well as the important advocacy work we're doing around the world on behalf of exploited youth, we need your help today. Your gift will provide the crucial funds we need to maintain the level of growth and quality of our programs that you have helped us build. If you can, please make a donation now to ensure our work will continue.
